Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum - Film Review
A feel-good journey of Paachu who runs a pharmacy shop in a rented space in Mumbai, goes on a trip to Kerala where the path in his life and others changes when he decides to help the shop owner's mother on a mission. Paachuvum Albhuthavilakkum is Akhil Sathyan's directorial debut and he brilliantly utilized the screenplay to deliver a feel-good story.
His writing style and film's story format resembled Njan Prakashan. Dialogues in the film make the audience feel alive and allow them to travel with the characters on screen. The film engages the audience with worthy and enjoyable moments although the film has a runtime of three hours - post interval part of the film slightly faces a lack but it takes off with back stories & emotions of supporting characters and engages the audience towards the climax.
Fahadh Faasil steals the show with his remarkable performance, he balanced his performance subtly and presented the role 'Paachu' to its finest limits. It is magical to see FaFa performing effortlessly and naturally. Paachu & Hamsadhwani were natural & spontaneous - the moments gradually build up emotions. Anjana Jayaprakash in the role of Hamsadhwani gave an impressive performance. Ummachi character, played by Viji Venkatesh, is the key to the film and she pulled a worthy and emotional performance in the film. Performances from the actors like Mukesh, Vineeth, Althaf Salim, and Dhwani Rajesh were notable as they justified the roles they acted in.
Justin Prabhakaran's music is a soul to the film. His brilliance in background score is surprising - he matches different scores and instrumentation into a scene and shifts according to the variation in the scene and it is quite subtle but extraordinary. Sharan Velayudhan's frames are natural and beautiful - it is more than enough to rope the audience into the life of the film.
