Good Night - Film Review

After a very long time, it was good to watch a feel-good movie in Tamil Cinema. Good Night guaranteed that clever writing & brilliant execution will result in a perfect blend of a fun-filled emotional family drama and engage the audience with day-to-day realities. Vinayak Chandrasekaran's debut with Good Night is brilliant which will be evident through his writing & execution in the film, he proved that a simple knot of storyline is more than enough to provide an effective movie. The way they presented each character and their stories was quite beautiful, the initial portions of exploring Anu and Mohan's life & their family was delightful. Each character & the relationship between them were lovely & captivating

The story revolves around the central character Mohan & his family - how the snore can simply destroy & affect the relationships is the central plot and the story beautifully unwrap the other characters of the film and gives keen significance to each of the characters. The film is the projection of day-to-day life, we really get to connect with the film with the very first single shot intro of the family. Manikandan delivered a charming performance, he holds his screen space with his natural presence that was on the point & balanced. Ramesh Thilak gave a remarkable performance, it was very nice to see the way he approached the character and connected with the audience - simple, joyful & emotional. The combination of Manikandan & Ramesh Thilak was delightful to see. Meetha Raghunath gave a justifiable performance in her role and was more convincing and pleasant to see her in the character of Anu. Other supporting actors like Raichal Rebecca, Uma Ramachandran, Balaji Sakthivel & Bagavathi Perumal gave an impressive performance.

Sean Roldan's background score adds magic to the film - it makes us feel the characters and slowly elevates the mood of the film. Jayanth's frames were impactful in projecting the life in the film. The life inside this film is so beautiful & pleasant, and the value of each relationship in life were showcased very well. It is not easy to write a feel-good genre and Vinayak has done it right successfully.
